The company Zaugg Emballeur AG was founded on 1 January 1977 as a packaging company for exports. The gasworks site, which was decommissioned shortly beforehand, proved to be an ideal location for packaging large and bulky goods, as it also had its own railway connection.

Thanks to the spaciousness of the premises, the start-up was able to continue its expansion course. Just four years after being founded, the company ran out of space in the existing office wing and Zaugg Emballeur AG was able to move to its current location.

As of 1 January 1985, the already used properties plus two others were purchased from the city of Zurich, and the Executive Board subsequently decided to set up the Property department. Zaugg Emballeur AG has since owned grounds with a total area of 32,000 m2 and a gross floor area of about 20,000 m2.

At the request of our major customers, Zaugg Emballeur AG established the Seeland branch with its registered office in Brügg on 1 July 1991, which was then relocated to Biel on 1 July 1996 and renamed the Biel branch.

Succession planning started as of 1 January 1998. Michael Zaugg became Chairman of the Executive Board. Werner Zaugg still holds the office of Chairman of the Board of Directors and is Assistant Manager.

Logistics is the newest department, which was established on 1 January 2007. In order to be able to offer our customers the best possible service (everything from a single source), we have concluded agreements with various providers of land, air and sea transport that enable us to offer a top quality service at market prices – from pick-up to delivery in the destination country.

NOur general aim is to provide packaging and logistics services, which meet the most stringent requirements with regard to quality and service.
